Sperm may also be immature or unable to swim which can be caused by many different conditions including past infections, immune problems, environmental and lifestyle factors, and in some cases genetic diseases such as Klinefelter syndrome. Approximately 30% of fertility issues are due to male factor infertility. Around 1 in 10 men have a low sperm count, causing infertility.
